The 2014 Glitz African Fashion Week in Accra Ghana was a fantastic and impressive show case of African creativity in Fashion from international and national fashion designers.   

Amongst the weekend gathering at the International Conference centre in Accra were fashion Industry enthusiast, fashion photographers, fashion journalists, stylists, Top Ghanaian and African models and a range of fashion lovers.

Activities were centred around seminars and discussions, exciting runway shows and after parties that all went along in dedication to support the fashion and Creative Art industry in Africa.

The opening of the fashion week begun on Thursday Nov 6th with an invitations only  “haute AVANTE GARDE party” at the GLAMOUROUS CFAO showroom at airport city, opposite the AVIANCE cargo village.

The seminar on day one highlighted topics on key issues under the theme of building a sustainable fashion brand. The speakers were Mrs. NORA Bannerman CEO of Sleek Garment Factory, Mister CHARLES MENSAH, financial consultant, Mr ASANTE BEDIATUO, Lawyer and EUGENIA MAWUENA AJOA TECHIE-MENSON, VLISCO Ambassador 2014.  

Some of the topics discussed were over the fashion industry and the growth of our economy, entrepreneurship and getting started, Success or Failure and the drive to keep creating.

The week progressed into the eve of Friday the 7th which begun with a fantastic and colourful runway show presented by I.K. DORKENU, AFROMOD TRENDS, AVD FASHION, ROSE PALHARES and others.

International brands showing on Saturday included ORANGE CULTURE, CHRISTIE BROWN, AYA MORRISON, SEFAK, SEYI JONES and many more.

The well attended cocktail after party late sunday evening after the last runway show was sponsored by CHEVAS Regal and PERONI.

It run late into the night, bringing the curtains down to another successsful weekend of African fashion Glamour and spleandour  for the third year running.
