African  life  is  much  slower  than  in  the  West, and  the  days  stretch  long,  hot  and   unhurried. This is  a  great  place  to  rest,  relax  and  reflect.  There  is  lots  going  on,  but  you  can  choose  your level  of  participation  and  be  as  busy  or  as  quiet  as  you  like.

Meet  me  there  African  home  lodge  is  a  non-profit  lodge with  the  main  aim  o f supporting  the  work  of  its  sister NGO  'Dream Big Ghana'   

 

 

Hugh Newton  was  the  founder  of  Meet  Me  There, building it in 2002.

 

Hugh  started  a  very  successful  fair  trade  business  which  involves  exporting  African  instruments  which  led  him  to  the  beautiful  country  of Ghana.  It  was  here  where  he  travelled  and  came  across  the  stunning  location  which  in  time  became  the  site  for  Meet  Me  There.

 It  was  his  amazing  vision  and  energy  that  gave  Meet  Me  There  the  great  reputation  that  it  has  to  this  day!  

 

The  four  core  programmes  of  Dream  Big  Ghana  are  sanitation,  education,  youth sports development  and  community  health. All  four  areas promote  sustainable  development  to  make  a  real  difference  in  the  local  community.

 

The  NGO  is  successful  because  it  has  been careful  and  gone  about  identifying  community  needs,  and  then  working  hard  to  ensure  that relatively  scarce  resources  are  put  to  good  use.
