ETHIKA
A POP UP STORE WEEKEND was held at the mini events hall of the La Villa Boutique Hotel, Osu, Accra between the 13th – 15th of December 2014 to support talent and the rising stars of Ghanaian Fashion Design.
The three day event was organised by the International Trade Centre (ITC), the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and Ethical Fashion Initiative (ETHIKA).
It was an opportunity for invited guests, the diplomatic corp, patrons and fashion enthusiasts as well as the public to discover, shop and support the talented designers who were selected to show for the weekend.
Items on display were designs and productions by the Palette Designer Association, Ameyo, Tutuwaa, Ohema Ohene, Nuna Couture, Enaj Bijou, Poqua poqu, House of Azoria, Ayek, Multibellar, Quamiwear, Alinafe Misomali, Sambalake wear, Rebekah Opuni.
My theme for the photographs on this page was LOW KEY & AVANTE GARDE and I forged it to suite the time of the day and the mood of the pop up shop in correlation with my camera’s sensitive technical choices.
I would also like to make mention of Nicole Pitter Patterson, the programme development officer for the Ethical Fashion Initiative. (www.intracen.org/exporters/ethical-fashion) who encouraged my work with her kind permission to make these photographs.
